Common Sanitation Challenges and How to Solve Them
Odor control, accessibility, weather, vandalism β solved by the pros.
The Most Common Sanitation Headaches β and Real Fixes
After years of serving Fargo and the Red River Valley, we've seen every problem you can throw at a portable toilet. Here are the most common ones β and how the pros handle them.
Odor
Odor isn't about how often a unit is pumped β it's about chemistry. Our crews use commercial-grade deodorizing tablets calibrated to the temperature and traffic of your site. In summer, we add extra tabs; in winter, we use a cold-weather formula that doesn't freeze.
Vandalism and Tipping
Place units against a wall or fence with the door facing away from the road. For events, station them in a lit area near security or food service. We can also bolt or anchor units to prevent tipping.
Accessibility
If you're hosting an event or running a public-facing jobsite, ADA-compliant units are required. We rent wheelchair-accessible units for the same per-day rate as a slightly larger standard unit β no penalty for doing the right thing.
Weather
North Dakota weather is no joke. We winterize units, use anti-freeze blue, and can swap out heated trailers when the cold gets brutal. In summer, we move servicing earlier in the day to keep things fresh.
Worker Compliance
If your crew refuses to use the unit, the unit isn't the problem. Add a handwash station, station the toilet near break areas, and service it more often. Compliance follows comfort.
